The City of Escondido is voting on a new wireless infrastructure ordinance on July 15, 2018. This ordinance has several issues that will prevent the City from having high-speed wireless connectivity for people living, working or visiting the city. This ordinance will increase data congestion, meaning slower download times, unresponsive networks and serious roadblocks to future technology investment. WIN is asking all stakeholders on this issue to author letters to the Santa Monica City Council encouraging them to send the ordinance back to the Technology Committee for additional changes to the proposed permitting process, fee structure and site restrictions.
